Square the number x and multiply the answer by 2. 10 square is 100×2=200
200=10*10 *2 =200
10 _ 200 agree with the folks who say this for the same reason
Mt answer 1s 10 x 16 = 160

etc.. so 10 x (10×2) = 200

This is one of those puzzles where the way you view it determines whether you can get to a correct answer or not. View it the wrong way and you might never get there.
This is a simpler problem so I’m surprised by the 99.9% have failed to work it out statistic. But then, that also happens in my profession which is designing other people’s products for them. In our case, electronics based products that are intended to be manufactured in Australia. Some of our work is designing a product that other people have previously had a go at but didn’t succeed.
It will be interesting to see what the statistics are for the people who contribute to this blog. I’m betting they are better than average.

the answer is 160. there is a pattern where each Number on the right is multipled with an even number incrementaly from 6, , 10, 12, 14 then 16 for 10.

I got 200 as an answer but took a really long way to get there; I started with 3=18 and then substracted the 3 and got 15 or 3×5; 4 = 32 became 32-4 or 4 x 7; following on 7 = 98 became 98 – 7 or 7×13 which then led me to 10 x19 which is 190 plus the original 10 which is 200. I think it was a complete fluke that I got the same answer as most of you.
