I just heard about this… Check it out!
Kids Code Jeunesse is a Canadian bilingual non-profit organization that aims to provide every child in Canada with the opportunity to learn to code. They provide schools with trained volunteers who teach kids and their teachers computer programming in the classroom.
What a great idea!
This is a very exciting initiative. If children can learn how software makes everything work, and how they can create their own software, then that opens up a whole new world of endless opportunities for them.
My business develops new electronics products, but 80% of the work now is in software. Software so many advantages over hardware including:
– almost zero cost in manufacture
– almost unlimited flexibility
– easily updated after you ship the product
It will be interesting to see what this means for Canada in 20 years.
